I really, really enjoyed this comic! I usually only get the anthology versions of comic books, because I like to read things in big chunks, but I saw an ad/recommendation for it somewhere else and knew I had to get it immediately. The basic plot (so far!) is that animals have suddenly become sentient and can talk, and they are fully aware of all the indignities that humans have done them and aware of the context of their actions. They're basically people. There's a really excellent and nuanced portrayal of the different animals' reactions, with domestic animals being protective of their humans (There's one panel, where a cat jumps onto a sleeping man lying next to a sleeping woman, holds its claws over his eye, and says "If you EVER hit her again, I will claw out your eyes, is that clear?", that nearly brought me to tears.) One little girl, named Jesse, has been separated from her parents in the chaos of animals fighting back, so now her dog, Sanjay (I think? I am bad with names) has to protect her. Mesmerizing and brilliant. A must read!
Surprising good. After I was able to pick this up, I gave it a chance. It has gotten better with each new release.
Different book, excited to see where it goes. Not for kids. Not at all. Treat your pets better. If it really happened we'd be so screwed.
Very interesting premise, I love how all the animals "waking up" react differently to humans based on their experiences.
It's great. I can't wait for the second one.
So far, seems like an interesting premise! Already pulls at tour emotions! Book is too short, but that's how comics go nowadays!
